Publication ethics statement of <Membrane science and technology>

Scientific research integrity is the cornerstone of scientific and technological innovation, Maintaining and practicing scientific integrity is crucial to every participant in academic research, paper writing, and publishing. <Membrane science and technology>, as an important carrier to display the achievements of membrane industry, will adhere to the maintenance and promotion of scientific integrity, adhere to high standards of publishing ethics. In the process of running the magazine, the work shall be carried out in strict accordance with the publishing guidelines, policies and regulations of the state, combining membrane science research and engineering application, in the service of national strategic membrane materials research planning, promote the separation membrane materials from basic theory to engineering application of the comprehensive development, promote the membrane technology in water quality safety, water resources protection, new energy development and the application of medical and health process. In order to strengthen the construction of academic integrity <membrane science and technology>, the standard thesis writing and editing, and publishing process, a boycott of academic misconduct, we refer to the law of the People's Republic of China copyright law and international publishing ethics committee (COPE), the Elsevier published related to ethics and terms, and combined with our actual situation, formulate moral guidelines for the publication of membrane science and technology, for the author, going over manuscripts, editors and publishers.

1. "publishing ethics" in this code refers to the code of ethics and code of conduct that all subjects should follow in the publishing of academic journals.

2. Academic misconduct refers to the behavior that violates academic norms and ethics.Generally refers to manipulate data (fabrication), manipulate data (falsification) plagiarism (plagiarism) and three kinds of behavior.(1) fabrication of data refers to the fabrication of data;Tampering with data refers to altering or misrepresenting data by means of falsification;(3) plagiarism, plagiarism refers to the theft or modification of other people's work as their own, in the same way of use, completely or partly copy other people's work or to some extent change its form or content of the behavior, including ideas plagiarism, paragraph plagiarism, full text plagiarism.The specific manifestations are: plagiarism, forgery, falsification, improper signature, multiple submission, repeated publication, split publication, violation of relevant research ethics, etc.

3. We reject manuscripts with a reproduction ratio of more than 20% (excluding references).For copies less than 20% of the manuscript, also consider: whether the repeated part is the main results and ideas.If so, it cannot be published.Delete the repeated content and use references to express, see if the rest of the part can support a paper.If not, it is judged to have no publication value.

4. Conflict of interest refers to the conflict between different individuals or groups in scientific activities, or between the secondary interests (such as economic interests, friendship, kinship, etc.) and the primary interests represented by their duties (such as ensuring the objectivity of research results, etc.).

 

Author ethics

1. The author shall be responsible for the authenticity of the paper, and shall cooperate with the editorial department to provide original pictures, original data, fund proposal proposal, project name and other supporting materials.

2. The author shall guarantee the authenticity of the content (data and author information) of the manuscript when submitting the manuscript, ensure that there are no multiple submissions, no confidentiality issues involved, and the signature is not controversial, etc.

3. The author shall abide by the "five prohibitions" principle of the paper: no third party is allowed to write the paper;No third party is allowed to submit papers;No third party is allowed to modify the contents of the paper;Do not provide false peer reviewer information;Do not violate the rules of attribution (see articles 4-7), and firmly resist the use of attribution by non-substantial academic contributors.

4. The signed author is a substantial contributor to the paper, including:

(1).Or obtaining, analyzing or interpreting research data;

(2)Drafting research papers or in the important intellectual content of the paper to modify;

(3)Finalizing the version to be published;

(4)Persons who agree to take responsibility for all aspects of the research to ensure that problems relating to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the paper are properly investigated and resolved.Those who do not meet all 4 criteria (such as providing technical assistance to the paper, or providing financial and material support) are not eligible for authorship, but may express their gratitude to the helper in the acknowledgement.

5. In principle, the authorship shall be arranged according to the degree of contribution, which shall be agreed by the authorship of the paper and determined at the time of submission.The signature of the author and the unit shall not be changed. If it is necessary to change, the main person in charge of the paper (the first author and corresponding author) shall submit an application for change to the editorial department, state the reasons, and be signed and approved by all the signed authors.

6. In general, the corresponding author only has 1 digit. If there are more than one corresponding author for a standardized mult-icenter or multidisciplinary collaborative study, the number may be increased as appropriate.The additional corresponding authors are usually the academic representatives of different research institutions or different research groups collaborating on the research.

7. The author should specify the author's name and organization when submitting the paper.The author's organization shall be relevant to the research content of the paper. If not, the author shall state his/her contribution to the research, or the author's organization shall issue a certificate certifying that the author has actually engaged in the research.

8. If the author affiliated institution unit and complete the topic choice and research design, research, and provide the research conditions of institutional units inconsistent (such as a graduate from training units, graduate students and visiting scholars and research cooperation, etc.), is to provide research condition and complete research institutions as the first sign unit.

9. The author should state whether there is a conflict of interest when submitting the article. Where there is a conflict of interest, all economic interests that may have an impact on the outcome of the study should be stated.

10. If the author has any objection to the review comments and results, he/she may submit a written statement to the editorial department and give a detailed explanation and explanation for each review comment.

 

Reviewer ethics

1. The evaluation experts shall adhere to the principles of fairness, impartiality, confidentiality and timeliness to give responsible comments on manuscripts. There shall be no prejudice or discrimination against the author's scientific research institution, region, qualification or nationality, nor shall the contents of the author's research be disclosed.

2. When there is a conflict of interest between the reviewer and the author (such as kinship relationship, teacher-student relationship, alumni relationship, colleague relationship and competition relationship), the reviewer should declare the conflict of interest to the editorial department in time to ensure the impartiality of the review, and the editorial department should decide whether to withdraw.

3. When the reviewer finds that the author is engaged in research similar to his/her own, he/she shall not use the review to suppress or belittle the author's paper.

4. The reviewer shall review the manuscript in time according to the agreement. If the reviewer fails to return on time, he/she shall timely inform the editorial department and withdraw from the review, and may recommend the reviewer.

5. When the reviewer meets the manuscript that has been reviewed, he/she is obliged to report the situation to the editorial department and fill in the evaluation opinions according to the standards of the journal.

 

Editor ethics

1. The editor shall deal with each manuscript fairly, justly and timely, and make the decision to accept or reject the manuscript based on the importance, originality, scientificity, readability, authenticity of the research and its relevance to the journal.

2. Editors should abide by the principle of confidentiality.On the other hand, the author's research should be kept secret.

3. Editors shall not interfere in peer review driven by interests, and shall strive to ensure independent review by peer experts to ensure the fairness and impartiality of peer review.

4. For the peer reviewers recommended by the author, the editor shall verify the authenticity of the reviewer's information and decide whether to use the recommended reviewer based on the research field and expertise of the recommended reviewer and the conflict of interest of the author.If the author asks to be excused from the review of his or her work by an expert, and this request is reasonable, the editor shall respect it.

5. When selecting a paper review expert, editors should try to avoid the same unit as the author, and should not choose a signed author as a review expert.

6. The editor should take the author's complaint seriously and organize a group discussion or ask the reviewers to review it.

7. Editors have the responsibility to avoid academic misconduct such as multiple submission and repeated publication of one draft, and should  review papers submitted for the first time and papers to be published for two times.

8. Editors are obliged to alert authors of copyright and intellectual property issues that may arise after a change in the signature, organization, and sequence of authorship.

9. The editor shall, as far as possible, provide the author with detailed Suggestions for revision or reasons for rejection.

10. Editors should respect the author's point of view and style of writing, and should obtain the author's consent for any key changes to the paper that involve academic views.

 

Publisher ethics

1. This journal follows the principle of first publication and reports original research results.

2. If any academic misconduct is found in the accepted manuscripts, the journal has the right to reject the manuscripts and notify the authors and their units.

3. For published papers, if found to have academic misconduct, this journal will make the withdrawal processing, published the withdrawal statement.

4. The journal shall publish the detailed guidelines required by the author (such as submission guidelines, writing guidelines, etc.) and update them in a timely manner.

5. Journals should develop systems for managing conflicts of interest among their editors, authors, reviewers and editorial board members.
