Abstract:
A new affinity membrane, PVDF hollow fiber membrane with L-serine (Ser) ligand was prepared (with 1,6-hexanediamine as the space arm) for endotoxin removal from human plasma. FTIR and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used to analyse the surface of membranes. The effects of operation parameters,such as pH value and ionic strength,on the endotoxin adsorption capacity of the affinity membranes were investigated, so as to the affinity adsorption kinetics. Then, self-made affinity membrane module was used to remove endotoxin form human plasma., and the endotoxin adsorption capability is 0.029EU/cm2. For the human plasma sample with endotoxin concentration of 0.42EU/ml, the clearance efficiency of self-made module could reach 43.8% with little effect on other biochemical indicators.
