Abstract:
Experiments of removing boron from water by reverse osmosis membrane were carried out on a pilot equipment. Results showed that the percentage of boron rejection could be improved at high feedwater pH values but be independent on boron concentration of feedwater. The rejection percentage would also be improved if the operating pressure increased and the recovery ratio decreased. The boron rejection percentage could be enhanced greatly by improving feedwater pH which would be an effective approach to promote the boron removing performance of reverse osmosis membrane.
