Abstract:
In this paper five different proportions of PVA/PDADMAC was used to prepare nylon fiber reinforced anion exchange membranes for desalination by elctrodialysis method and it was investigated that the effect of four different concentration of cross-linking agents on the properties of membrane, which are water content, dynamic transport number, charge density and membrane resistance.  The experimental results showed  that the water content of the membrane increased with PDADMAC content and decreased with the concentration of GA.  When CPC=30wt% and GA=0.05vol% its membrane resistance reached the lowest value, i.e. 4.46Ω cm2.  The dynamic transport number of the membrane was 0.99 when CPC=30wt% and GA=0.3vol%.  The charge density of the membrane was 1.24mol dm-3 at the factor of CPC=20wt% and GA=0.3vol%, respectively.
