Effect of morphology of CaCO3 on separation performance of ceramic membranes

Abstract:
 Ceramic membrane was widely used to separateultrafinepowder suspension. The separation performance was significantlyinfluenced by the properties of particles. The spherical powder, square powder and bundle of rod-like powder of CaCO3 were obtained respectively through controlling the precipitationreaction conditions.The matching relations between pore size of membrane and the properties of particlessuch as size and morphologywere got. The order of the flux of ceramic membrane for separating particlesuspension was:spherical powder> bundle of rod-like powder>square powder. The larger the pore size of ceramic membrane was,the greater influence of morphology of powder on separation performance was. The flux increasedwith the increasing of ratio of particalsize and pore size of ceramic membrane.
