Abstract:
Polyvinyl acetate (PVAc)/Poly(ionic liquid) semi-interpenetrating polymer network (S-IPN) membrane, PVAc/PILs, were successfully prepared by UV curing and used for the separation of CO2 and N2. The results shows that PVAc/PILs S-IPN possess better stability and mechanical properties than PILs,and PILs has good compatibility with PVAc when PILs content is ranging from 10 to 60 wt% With the increase of PILs content, both the permeability and solubility coefficient of CO2 and N2 were enhanced when PILs content is lower than 50 wt%. While CO2/N2 selectivity began to decrease after it reached the highest value of 64.20 with PILs content of 50 wt%.
