Abstract:
Chiral salen catalyst is a kind of excellent catalyst in asymmetric catalytic reactions, and the immobilization of the catalyst is one of the effective methods for its recycling. But the reported immolilizing methods still exists some problems, such as the difficulty in separating the urtrafine particle immobilized catalysts from the reaction mixture, and the mass transfer restriction of the heterogeneous reaction system. The salen-Mn(Ⅲ) catalytic membrane reactor was constructed by immobilizing the catalyst onto porous membrane in our previous work. In this work, the main influence factors on the catalytic properties of the membrane reactor, the kind of silane coupling agents, the kind of solvents and reaction temperature of grafting reaction and the dosage of 3-chloroperbenzoic acid and reaction temperature of the epoxidition of styrene, were studied. The conversion rate and ee values of the epoxidation reaction catalyzed by the membrane reactor were 21.7% and 43.1%, repectively, under the optimized conditions. Salen-Mn(Ⅲ) catalysts have been introduced into the membrane pores, which was proved by the results of XPS analysis.
