Research on Nanometre Silicone Emulsion Modified iPP/TiO2 Superhydrophobic and Selfcleaning Microporous Membrane

Abstract:
 The lab-made isotactic polypropylene/ nano TiO2 particle co-blending microporous membrane was modified by immersion method. The effect of nanometre silicone emulsion concentration and reaction temperature on the morphological structure and hydrophobicity of the modified membranes was discussed. Then, the best preparation condition of the nanometre silicone emulsion modified iPP/TiO2 superhydrophobic membrane was obtained. Finally, the determination of self-cleaning property, pH and VMD stabilities of nanometre silicone emulsion modified iPP/TiO2 superhydrophobic membrane was carried out. The result showed that the best preparation condition of the nanometre silicone emulsion modified iPP/TiO2 superhydrophobic membrane was UV photocatalysis was 30min, the concentration of nanometre silicone emulsion was 20wt%, reaction temperature was room temperature, and the drying time was 2h under 80°C. On this condition, the contact angle of modified membrane was reached 153.2°, and the rolling angle was less than 10°. The nanometre silicone emulsion modified iPP/TiO2 superhydrophobic membranes had an excellent self-cleaning property, pH stability, VMD stability, anti-pollution capacity and anti- wetting capacity.
