Paraquat wastewater treatment by the membrane-based nanofiltra- tion and reverse osmosis processes

Abstract:
In this study, we used Nano-filtration(NF) and Reverse Osmosis(RO) membrane to isolate ammonia from the paraquat production wastewater and analyzed the factors which affect the membrane separation performance, such as membrane flux, operating pressure, feed concentration and pH, temperature. The results showed that the removal rate of ammonia were 37% and 65% when the NF and RO were run in the best condition. The wastewater can reach the discharge standards and the enterprise can satisfy the requirement of cleaner production level if we make further processing.
