Abstract:
In this study, the reed, which is one of the most abundant and useful renewable material, was chosen as the raw material of cellulose, and its environmentally friendly regenerated cellulose membranes were successfully prepared by dissolving the reed cellulose in N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) solution. The structural differences between reed cellulose and cellulose regenerated from NMMO had been investigated by using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction, and the results showed that the crystalline of reed cellulose transforms completely from celluloseⅠto celluloseⅡafter regeneration from NMMO solution. In addition, when the content of reed cellulose was between 4 and 10, the membranes presented good film-forming properties, especially, the membranes consisted of 8% reed cellulose, which not only had smooth surface, but also presented good Mechanical properties and strong acid-alkali resistance.
