Mass-transfer simulation test and theoretical model analysis in dialysis hollow fiber membrane

Abstract:
Hollow fiber dialyzer is widely applied in the end-stage renal disease in hemo-dialysis therapy. It plays an important role in kidney disease patients in the world. However, there is little research of solute transfer in dialyzer. This paper builds a theoretical mass-transfer model of dialysis hollow fiber membrane, based on mass-conservation theory and double-membrane theory. Three common membrane materials are used in simulation test,and data is calculated with the mass transfer model with represent solutes. With analysis of the relationship between mass-transfer performance and the structural characteristics of membrane, referential suggestions for material selection and structural design in manufacture of hollow fiber membrane are put forward.
