Abstract:
A physical hydrophilic modification method was investigated in this study. It took hydrophilic material  as vine and the fibril in the polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) flat sheet membrane as tree. The PTFE flat sheet membrane was hydrophilic modifiedby using polystyrene sulfonate (PSS) as a hydrophilic agent, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as an adhesive and glutaraldehyde (GA) as a crosslinking agent. The effect of hydrophilic modification on the structure and property of the PTFE flat sheet membrane was investigated. SEM images showed that the fibrilsin the microstructure of the modified PTFE membrane became thick and the fibrils were encapsulatedin the hydrophilic material. With the increase of concentration of PVA and PSS, pore size, porosity and surface contact angle of the modified membrane decreased, the pure water flux firstlyincreased and then reduced. The hydrophilic persistence of the modified PTFE flat sheet membrane is good, the rejection of turbidity of crystal grinding wastewater was 99.84%, and the modification effectively inhibited the pollution of protein adsorption.
