Effect of graphene oxide concentration on morphologies and properties of polysulfone ultrafiltration membranes

Abstract:
 Using graphene oxide and polysulfone as precursors, polysulfone/graphene oxide composite ultrafiltration membrane was prepared by the method of immersion precipitation phase inversion. The cross-section structure, functional groups and contact angle of the membrane were respectively characterized by Scanning electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared spectrometer and contact angle measurement instrument. And other performance index of the membrane such as water flux and flux recovery ratio were characterized by ultrafiltration installation. Antibacterial property was also tested. The results revealed that finger-like pore structure was clear and the water flux reached the peak 242.43L/m2?h when the content of graphene oxide was 2%. Meanwhile, hydrophilicity and anti-fouling performance of the composite membrane were significantly enhanced. The antibacterial property was also improved.
