Abstract:
Using silver nitrate (AgNO3) as a raw material, N,N-dimethyl formamide (DMF) as a reducing agent and poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) as a dispersing agent, Ag particles were fabricated by reducing. Polysulfone (PSF) hollow fiber ultrafiltration membranes were prepared via non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS) method using the solution containing Ag particles as a bore fluid. The membrane was characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and contact angle. The hydrophilicity of the membrane inner surface was improved by the integration of Ag particles, leading to an increase in pure water flux from 378 to 452 L/m2h and a reduction in membrane inner surface contact angle from 86 to 78°. The organic antifouling performance was evaluated by using the humic acid solution. The experimental results confirm that the existence of Ag particles in PSF ultrafiltration membrane could mitigate the adsorption and deposition of organics to the organic fouling resistance.
